What Do I Click?

Adding a ring group

Click the Users Icon → Click the Add Ring Group button → name the ring group → Assign an extension to it (cannot be changed) → Enter the extension/number/phone(s) to be rung → Set initial ring times, if desired → Set the Ring Timeout → Set the destination if the call is unanswered → Click Add Group at the bottom.

Notes on Ring Group items

  • Name: Give it an easily recognizable name. If you wanted multiple ring groups in the future, use a scheme that is scalable, i.e. Support Group 1, Support Group 2, etc. Do not use terms that may confuse others into thinking it's a different part of the system, i.e. call queue group, call attendant group or agent group.
  • Extension: This cannot be changed once assigned. Using a different number scale  than you typical extension list is advisable.
  • Simultaneous Ring: Assign the phones/numbers/extensions to be rung here.
    • Initial Ring Time: How long this phone/number/extension will ring before other users in the group are rung. The slide bar ranges from 0-30 seconds
  • Ring Timeout: How long the agent(s) in this ring group will ring before moving on to the unanswered location.
  • When Unanswered: This can be an extension, voicemail, another ring group, call queue, Auto Attendant, number, etc. Not setting this, will terminate the call.
